May 4 week class - Adults
The Course Breakdown
Thursdays 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Week One: The course begins with an introduction to line work, patterns, and drawing techniques. Using ink and pencils, students will experiment with mark-making and develop a catalogue of textured patterns to use in their final artwork.
Week Two: This session focuses on exploring different watercolor techniques to achieve texture. Students will experiment with combining watercolor with salt, plastic wrap, crayons, and other materials to create unique visual effects. Students will also see how colours interact and transform.
Week Three: Students will select their subject matter and color palette for their final piece. Using their texture catalogues for reference, they will begin applying the first layers of watercolor, focusing on creating depth and intricate textures.
Week Four: In the final session, students will refine their artwork by removing any materials used in previous layers (such as salt or plastic wrap) and adding final ink details. They will complete their compositions with thoughtful mark-making and extra finishing touches to bring their work to life.
